Certificate III in Hospitality

Qualification Summary

The Certificate III in Hospitality provides the skills needed to operate in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops. Individuals may have some responsibility for others and provide technical advice and support to a team.   As part of the course students are required to attend compulsory work placement arranged by MEGT Institute.  Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol and Provide Responsible Gambling Services units will be delivered by a third party registered training provider as part of this course.

Training Methods

A combination of classroom demonstrations, simulations, questions and discussions, projects, case studies and, excursions, and practical sessions are used, together with work placement to acquire practical workplace experience.

Assessment Methods

A combination of presentations, simulations, written assessments, group work, projects, and practical demonstration plus assessment in the workplace.

Assessment Outcome

Student will be marked either Competent (C) or Not Yet Competent (NYC) for each unit of competency.

Students are assessed in the workplace against key learning outcomes.

Pathways

MEGT Institute graduates who complete a Certificate III in Hospitality are eligible to enrol in higher qualifications.

Entrance Requirements

Completion of year 10 or equivalent.  Overseas students must show proof of their English language proficiency of IELTS score 5.5 or equivalent.  Students must be over 18 years of age.
